Quantitative Developer – Python -ML – Trading

80-120K + OTE Amsterdam

My client is a leading global market maker using algorithmic trading and advanced technology to buy and sell securities across multiple exchanges worldwide. From their offices in Amsterdam, US and Asia Pac providing liquidity to the financial markets.

They build robust, fully automated systems used to predict and trade cryptocurrency markets, with an ambition to scale way beyond crypto to markets such as equities. As a technology and data-driven team, they design and build their own cutting-edge systems, from high-performance trading platforms to large-scale data analysis and computation infrastructure.

As a Quantitative Developer, you will be operating as a senior and core member of their high-performance, dedicated, multi-disciplinary team, with a background in math, statistics, robotics, quantum chemistry, data science and beyond. Most importantly, you’ll make a real impact on the architecture and quality standards of their tech infrastructure.

You will have full ownership of the design and development of robust, low-latency, high-throughput trading systems responsible for trading and optimal execution of well over €2bn in monthly volume. This includes low latency exchange and market connectivity, and the data processing engines ingest large quantities of data in a time and memory-efficient manner. You will lead the continuous development of their trading systems, optimizing the execution algorithms. You will also work together with researchers to tackle challenging problems of optimal execution: analyze tick data, estimate market impact and so forth.

Within a complex landscape of varying systems and technologies, you’ll be constantly challenged to consider trade-offs between latency, throughput, simplicity, scalability and maintainability.

They have on offer;

Tech isn’t a department that supports the business – tech is core to the business and sits front and center in everything they do. They  make the proprietary systems highly performant, scalable, and intuitive. Their team is defined by a high-performance culture that values collaboration, transparency, and meritocracy.

They like being challenged and don’t mind putting in the hard work. While the recognition and competitive compensation make this a great place to work at.

They are united fundamentally by their love and curiosity for innovation in financial markets and technology. They expect you to be versatile, flexible and very creative in order to come up with new and innovative solutions. In return, they give you the freedom to pursue your ideas and implement them right into the production systems. They believe in the power of the individual, and that autonomy and accountability are indispensable to the success of their mission. You will not get a lot of top-down instruction telling you exactly what to do and when to do it. You’ll get directional advice, useful frameworks, access to interesting challenges, and plenty of freedom to execute as you see fit. They are meritocratic by nature and believe that empowering talent in the organization is the only way to achieve the ambitious goals.

They hire from the top 10% of the global tech community and they reward accordingly. Beyond this, they provide Researchers and Developers a range of training and personal development opportunities, as well as the chance to work with the latest technologies.

The is currently based in the city center of Rotterdam, but will move to the Amsterdam HQ in the foreseeable future, where they offer a vibrant office environment, a free catered breakfast and lunch and a ready supply of fresh fruit, snacks and drinks. The office is a great place to work from, but so is your home. That’s why they moved to a flexible hybrid model that allows for both.

While they work hard, they also have a lot of fun. As part of the “family”, you’ll get to enjoy the annual company trip and numerous social events throughout the year.

My client has a strong preference for people who bring something exceptional to the table. Github and outstanding universities/grades will be evidence of this. TU Delft, Eindhoven, Twente, TU Aachen, Munich, Heidelberg, ETH Zurich, French famous engineering schools are obviously interesting educational backgrounds.
