Trading Software Engineer Rust/C++ –

Amsterdam 110-130K + OTE

Supergrads has been assigned by an Amsterdam-based algorithmic trading firm to search for a Trading Software Engineer. Our client’s goal is to capture market making and arbitrage opportunities across a wide variety of exchanges. Their trading infrastructure is fully automated making thousands of trades every day across hundreds of order books.

My client started 3 years ago and since they have built, and continuously improved their trading infrastructure and algorithms. Today, they have a leading position at a handful of exchanges, and they are at a very exciting point where they are scaling their trading operations to new exchanges and growing fast in their AUM and revenue.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to develop high-performance infrastructure components from scratch. Through this, you’ll have a lot of influence and impact on the company. Also, it requires a high degree of ownership as you’ll be responsible for deploying, maintaining and fine-tuning your newly built components.

What will you be doing?

  • Build entirely new trading infrastructure components
  • Improve existing and implement new trading algorithms
  • Drive and implement performance improvements
  • Build and optimize exchange connectors (REST and WebSocket API clients)
  • Optimize network connectivity across cryptocurrency exchanges with ultra-low latency network providers
  • Operations, such as system deployment, monitoring and tweaking trading algorithms

What should you bring?

  • 4+ years of professional experience as a software engineer using object-oriented languages
  • Confident in building new infrastructure components in Rust
  • Willingness to work with Typescript as well. While they are transitioning their infrastructure components to Rust, the majority of their production infrastructure is currently in Typescript.
  • Prior experience in the trading industry, preferably crypto. They will also consider experience with private crypto projects.
  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals, including experience with algorithms, data structures, system design and distributed systems
  • They need someone practical, results driven and who takes ownership
  • Enjoy working with a small and dedicated team
  • Interested in and curious about trading and digital assets
